Arts Award-A new qualification for young people

U CRE8 Community Arts are is one of a few organisations in the region who can register young people for the Arts Award, a new national qualification.

Many of the projects that we offer are perfect for the Arts Award. Our projects cover the following creative subjects:

Caribbean steel pan

Music technology

Musical theatre

Vocal skills

Music Performance

And more.

The Arts Award can be run over a minimum of 15 hours across a series of weeks or months. Young people are entered for final assessment when it is felt they are ready to gain the qualification. They can enter for an Arts Award from the ages 11 upwards and is suitable for people of all abilities. U CRE8 Community Arts can run the Arts Award any time including daytimes, evenings, weekends and school holidays.

What is an Arts Award equivalent to?

The Arts Award is on the National Qualifications Framework and is accredited by QCA (Qualifications Curriculum Authority)

Bronze - known as Level 1 Award in the Arts Equivalent: GCSE D-G

Silver - known as Level 2 Award in the Arts Equivalent: GCSE A* - C

Gold - known as Level 3 Award in the Arts Equivalent: A Level

Trinity College London is the awarding body for the Arts Award and they work in close partnership with Arts Council England. The Arts Award is on the Learning Aims Database.

Who are we?

CRE8 Community Arts Limited is a company based in, and working throughout, the North East providing specialist arts services and support to schools, pre- school and special needs groups, youth groups, older peoples associations, health and other community groups. Our projects offer opportunities for people regardless of background, ability and age the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in the world of performing arts. We work to build self-esteem, develop confidence, and improve skills. In short we are about creating possibilities and developing potential.
